What a Deal Is Worth
Pricing sourcing fees, proving the numbers and justifying your value
This book answers the question that decides whether you ever earn from sourcing: what is a deal actually worth, and how do you prove it? It works on numbers in two directions. First, the figures that show an investor a property genuinely stacks, and where to find reliable local data for free so you are never charging for guesses. Second, the numbers of your own business: the fee you charge, the true income you keep once deals that fall through are counted, and the costs sourcers forget. Each deal is stress-tested against a bad month, a void and a rate rise, because a deal that only works when everything goes right is not one to sell. A complete worked example follows a single deal from the property to the fee to your own income, and the final chapter helps you build a proper deal calculator and names the legal questions it cannot answer. Next in this series: “Sourcing Compliance: Redress, AML, Client Money and PI”.
